I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to MED for
an incredible FY06, and to our field and v-team
for a great MGX! This year’s MGX culminated a
year of hard work and unprecedented success
for our business, and has put us on course for
tremendous growth and impact for the future.
The wave of momentum is clearly on our side
as we head into FY07. Our job is to take
advantage of this great opportunity.
Thanks again to all of you who attended MGX
with us. Your presence and participation is the reason this
year’s event was truly historic for MED.
All the best,

Tony

 | This year’s MED theme was “Ride the Wave”, chosen as a metaphor to portray our market momentum of the Windows Mobile business. MED attendees wore red flowered tropical shirts, which seemed to be everywhere. Windows Mobile was referenced in many venues, presentations and demonstrations throughout the entire week. In short, few people could have been in Orlando the week of July 17 without hearing about MED and wanting to RIDE THE WAVE in a big way!
This was a fun week filled with surfboard

props, beach balls, and the splash of success from an incredible 2006. The week kicked off with a celebration of key awards and included great informational sessions and dialogue in two days of pre-meetings, which included a Q & A session with Simon Witts of EPG. There was a great networking dinner on the beach at Paradise Cove, and morale events that included wine tasting, playing in the waves at Typhoon Lagoon and a friendly basketball competition (World vs. Americas) champion - the World!
Key highlights of our MED presence and Windows Mobile brand:
· 10,000 “Ride the Wave” t-shirts distributed to Microsoft sales and marketing attendees; 130 t-shirts to OEM Sales team; 200 t-shirts to MEDMG staff
· Multiple “People Ready” videos shown during General Session which included our own MED employees!
· Three 20’ x 20’ Windows Mobile banners displayed in common break and eating areas
· 50 iMate SP5 devices donated to MGX for survey completion, complimentary from our partner
· Windows Mobile Showcase - Crossbow flashing, demos & purchasing
· MED presentation and demo in Robbie Bach keynote
· 5 MED track sessions + MED BG Keynote
· BMO Panel with Pieter Knook
· EPG selling session with Simon Witts and Suzan DelBene
The energy was high as we made our presence known at TD Waterhouse Arena for the general sessions. References to Windows Mobile were included in many executive speeches including presentations by Kevin Johnson, Bill Veghte, Mich Mathews, Jeff Raikes, Ray Ozzie, Craig Mundie and Robbie Bach (also a 20 minute presentation by our own Suzan DelBene).
On Friday, July 21st, the team was in the convention center for our MED track sessions. Windows Mobile was heavily integrated into many program sessions outside MED including BMO, MSN, the Retail vertical and numerous sessions in EPG and SMSP. The MED track was the second-highest rated track overall (only slightly behind MACH, new recruits at Microsoft group) and the MED session, “Selling to Win Against the Mobile Competition” was the 5th highest rated session in all of MGX!
Needless to say, the excitement filled the halls and MED was the buzz of the town. It was a great week for the team, a great wrap-up to 2006 and a terrific kick-off to a colossal FY07.
